The event begins with the presentation of awards in different categories to recognize the work of some of the many former students who undoubtedly deserve such distinction and who are an example and encouragement for current and future students.
Afterwards, and thanks to the support of the sponsoring entities, we will enjoy some delicious snacks and we will create a space where you can meet up with old friends, students and teachers.

Redeiras Building (Berbés, Vigo city)
A Universidade de Vigo celebrou a terceira edición dos Premios Alumni no edificio Redeiras, recoñecendo o talento e a traxectoria de antigas alumnas e alumnos que hoxe destacan polo seu impacto social e profesional. Os cinco premiados foron: Raquel Gómez (Emprendemento), fundadora da cooperativa Somos Terra; Valentina Marta Rodríguez (Humanidades), tradutora médica e investigadora; Javier Cebreiros (Impacto Social), impulsor do proxecto Ensaia; Carlos Spuch (Investigación), neurocientífico con máis de 90 publicacións; e Pablo Rodríguez (Traxectoria Profesional), creador da marca ReiZentolo. Tamén se outorgaron distincións honoríficas a Carlos Botana, Susana Rodríguez Gacio, Teresa Portela e David Regades.
O acto, conducido pola profesora Susana Rodríguez Barcia, contou coa participación do reitor Manuel Reigosa e a vicerreitora Natalia Caparrini, quen destacou o programa de mentoría Alumni como ponte entre o estudantado e o mundo profesional. Tras a entrega de premios, celebrouse un encontro informal na Praza do Berbés ao que asistiron máis de 150 persoas, entre exalumnos, docentes e profesionais, consolidando a comunidade Alumni como unha rede viva que segue crecendo e achegando valor á Universidade de Vigo e á sociedade galega.

The five studied at the University of Vigo and the five are from this Friday Alumni-UVigo Awards, awards that recognize personal and professional work that stands out for its value and for being an example of good work. Their names were announced this Friday at a gala held in the Redeiras building, chaired by the rector, Manuel Reigosa, and which became a great party with which the Vigo academic institution wanted to encourage the relationship with its former students and strengthen the feeling of belonging to the institution, actively contributing to the development and social projection of its graduates. During the event, the Alumni-UVigo Honorífico awards were also presented to Professor África González, and the Alumni-UVigo Distinguido awards were presented to the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, recognitions of the merit of two people especially involved with this institution and whose work contributes to the interests and values of the University of Vigo.
In a gala hosted by the professor of the Faculty of Philology and Translation Susana Rodríguez Barcia, the first to take the stage was the Vice-Rector for Students and Employability, Natalia Caparrini, who briefly explained the reason for these awards and the Alumni-UVigo community, currently made up of more than 1600 people. She also explained the composition of the jury that was in charge of choosing the 15 finalists -three for each category-, from among the more than one hundred candidacies received, and that it was then the Alumni-UVigo community itself, with its votes, that chose the winner of each of the categories. A year and a half after the procedures for its creation began, more than 1000 people are part of the Alumni-UVigo Community, which this afternoon celebrated for the first time in its history, the awarding of awards to its most outstanding members and a subsequent meeting. Graduates of all official degrees and the University Program for Seniors, exchange students, PDI and PAS, make up this community, made up of 51% women and 84% members who reside in Spain.
The Erasmo Square was the scene from 7:00 p.m. on July 13 for the presentation of the Alumni Awards in the categories of Entrepreneurship, Professional Career, Humanities, Social Impact and Research, which were attended by 80 graduates and which finally rewarded the personal and professional work of five of them: Bibiana Rodiño Janeiro, María Luz Abeijón Vidal, Martín Rodríguez Vázquez, Andrea Ruzo García and Belén Riveiro Rodríguez. For their part, the five former rectors of UVigo, Luis Espada Recarey, José Antonio Rodríguez Vázquez, Domingo Docampo Amoedo, Alberto Gago Rodríguez and Salustiano Mato de la Iglesia were recognized as Honorary UVigo Alumni for their merits in the development of the academic institution, while José María Franco, president of the UVigo Alumni Association, became the first UVigo Alumni distinguished in recognition of his special involvement with the institution.
